Supergirl Melissa Benoist Joins Impressive Lineup and

an Exciting Silent Auction to Support New Denver Studio

An Exclusive Video Benefit Concert and Online Silent Auction on October 23 Launches the Fundraising Phase to Open a Physical Space and Community in Denver

DENVER, CO (October 15, 2020) – On Friday, October 23, 2020 at 7:00 PM MDT, an entirely original, totally exclusive video benefit concert will air for a very limited time on YouTube to raise awareness, funds and support for SUBLIMELIGHT Studios, a new Arts and Wellness structure set to open in Denver in 2021.

Studio Founder and Producer, Julia Tobey and Co-Producer, Eugene Ebner have secured an exciting lineup of renowned artists with Colorado roots or connections. All have donated their time and talent to perform, donate Silent Auction items or speak in support of SUBLIMELIGHT Studios’ new mission.

Star of long-running Supergirl TV series, Melissa Benoist, Grammy Award nominee Neyla Pekarek, formerly of The Lumineers; Tony Award winner and star of CBS’ upcoming B Positive Annaleigh Ashford, three-time Emmy Award-winning composer Denise Gentilini, and Tony Award nominee Beth Malone will appear or perform to support the Studios’ mission.

TV and film stars Kathleen Rose Perkins and Jolie Jenkins have donated custom videos, and German designer Daniel Simon and Ashley Eckstein of Star Wars: The Clone Wars are donating autographed items to be won in the online Silent Auction.

Broadway actors, composers and music directors will perform, including Gregory Treco of Hamilton, Patricia Phillips of Kinky Boots, Josh Franklin of The Prom and 32nd Annual NAMT Festival finalist / composer of The Consoling Mechanism, Jason Veasey of The Lion King, Elizabeth Welch of The Phantom of the Opera, Piper Lindsay Arpan of Spamalot and Susan Draus of Beautiful.

Many of Colorado’s top, award-winning actors, directors and music directors will also appear, including Shannan Steele, Megan Van De Hey, Lauren Shealy, Robert Michael Sanders, Billie McBride, Kenny Moten, Jalyn Courtenay Webb, Jessica Hindsley, David Nehls, Lynzee  and Chris Jones, Adriane and Marco Robinson, Eden Lane, Sue Leiser, Julie and David Payne, Natalie Oliver-Atherton, Jennifer Condreay and Paul and Jessie Page.

Beloved drag queens Dixie Krystals and Shirley Delta Blow, and ensembles Black Iris Collective, The Beverly Belles and The Honey Taps will perform. Young actors: Henry Award winner Sophia Dotson, Bobby G. Award winner Abby Linderman, Hannah Katz, Evan Gibley and Miracle Myles round out the lineup.

The goal of the fundraiser is to raise $75,000 by November 23, 10% of which will benefit The Denver Actors Fund. Enticing Silent Auction items are listed now on the site as well with winners being announced at 10 pm after the concert.

Exciting donation tiers include a namesake studio for $10,000 level donors, a custom engraved brick for $500 level donors, and more.

90% of the donations from the concert will be used to pay for the initial startup costs and operational expenses for the studio, including establishing the LLC, legal fees, staff salaries, advertising and more.

The 90 minute concert will be broadcast on SUBLIMELIGHT Studios’ YouTube channel in three acts. During the breaks, viewers are encouraged to tune into SUBLIMELIGHT Studios’ Facebook page for more live entertainment and live engagement.

Viewers are encouraged to make a night of it and host their own private viewing parties at home.

50 people max are invited to join a socially distanced party at Cap City Tavern. $35 tickets for this small party are live on Eventbrite now.

The studio will offer shared studio space for Arts and Wellness professionals, including, but not limited to: dance, voice, acting, yoga, Pilates teachers, photographers, videographers, massage, meditation, nutrition, acupuncture experts and more.

Dance classes are being offered at interim spaces until the new studio is open. Scholarships are available and confidentiality is always honored.

The studio is a for-profit company and will be formed as an LLC.

Julia Tobey is also actively seeking investors. The studio currently has 33% of the backing it needs for buildout costs and down payment for the property itself.

“It’s one thing to have an idea, it’s another thing to have so many people jump on board to support it,” said Julia Tobey, Give 5 Productions Theatrical Producer and Studio Founder. “It just goes to show how very needed this is. People are dying for community, continued education and support from Wellness experts, now more than ever.”

“I am blown away by all of the support by so many exciting and talented performers who are volunteering their time to help us raise money and awareness for SUBLIMELIGHT Studios and The Denver Actors’ Fund,” remarked Co-Producer, Eugene Ebner. “It is crucial for us to have art and wellness in our community especially during these turbulent times.  I am proud to be a part of the Colorado artistic community.”

All are encouraged to sign up on the e-mail list to receive more information on the studio, classes, virtual concert and more at SublimelightStudios.com
