Meet Katie Reid

Director / Music Director

Katie is thrilled to be returning to her beautiful home state of Colorado after 15 years away performing and teaching professionally!

After graduating with a BFA in Musical Theater from The University of Oklahoma, Katie moved to NYC.

She was very fortunate to book her first audition and joined the National Touring company of Annie (Ronnie Boylan), directed by Martin Charnin.

She went on to perform all over the country on two more tours, 'Swonderful (Jane) and South Pacific (Nellie Forbush). Favorite regional credits include Cathy in Last Five Years (Shadowland Theater, NY), Missy in Marvelous Wonderettes (Shadowland Theater, NY), Pam in Full Monty (Arizona Broadway), Claire in Ordinary Days (NYC), Featured Singer in B’way: The Big Band Years, Sweeney Todd, and The Who's Tommy (Lyric Theater, OK). In Chicago she found herself specializing in Queens playing one in both Land of Forgotten Toys (CPA Theatricals) and Princess and the Pea (Marriott Theater). TV: All My Children (recurring nurse), Limitless (Maggie). Various commercials.

"Whether you're just trying something new or have your sights set on Broadway, I believe in the transformative power of storytelling for all ages!"

After eight years in NYC, Katie and her then fiance (now husband), Michael, moved to Chicago to pursue new opportunities. Katie worked in development and special events at American Theater Company, and then discovered a new passion for teaching in the arts. Katie worked for the award winning program, BRAVO Performing Arts, where she was on the creative or production team for dozens of shows, and had the opportunity to work directly with Disney Theatricals and iTheatrics to develop Pilot Productions of Sister Act JR, Wicked JR, Frozen JR, Freaky Friday JR and The Big One Oh. She also coached many students working in Chicago professionally.

Other favorite directorial credits include Cinderella, Spelling Bee and Once on this Island. Another favorite experience was developing an adult musical theater class that started with a bottle of wine and ended in friendships that will last a lifetime! She especially enjoys working one on one with students and offers private singing, acting and coaching lessons.

When she's not onstage or creating behind the scenes, Katie enjoys the outdoors and all Colorado has to offer! She and her husband enjoy skiing, hiking, camping, cooking, hosting friends, and traveling (she's been to all 50 states!)

She is very excited to be back in Colorado sharing her passion and professional theatrical experience with the next generation of theater lovers!
